Phở Sàigòn Vietnamese Noodle House - Restaurant Review

Phở Sàigòn is a chain in Texas and Louisiana. Its Austin location is in the North Lamar Chinatown shopping center. It's large, efficient and so yummy! The service is quick and friendly, and the restaurant is clean. It is old and sees a lot of traffic, but there's a good reason for that.

The restaurant serves traditional dishes such as phở (noodle soup) and bún (rice vermicelli noodles with grilled meats). We ordered shrimp spring rolls (~$4 or $5 for 2), chicken phở (~$8 for a regular bowl), and chicken bún (~$8 or $9).

I enjoyed every bite! The spring rolls were freshly made with a soft, slightly sticky wrapper, and came with a balanced peanut-butter sauce. My chicken soup was light and perfectly seasoned, and the bowl of condiments included the requisite bean sprouts, Thai basil, and sliced jalapeño peppers. The noodles were cooked exactly as I like them (not too firm or soft), and the proportions of the ingredients and flavor were just right. Can't wait to return!
