Razi Winery - Napa, CA

The Razi Winery is small and family-owned.

Its tasting room exterior is flanked by two small vegetable gardens and topped with gorgeous vines.

The tasting room itself is absolutely beautiful - who wouldn't want a wall of wine like this one?!

Tastings are by appointment only and $20 each unless you purchase two bottles of wine or join the wine club. The owner hosted our tasting himself - such a sweet man! Here's what we tasted:
  • Chardonnay 2012 ($35 a bottle) - nice, light fruit
  • Chardonnay 2013 ($35 a bottle) - exceptional, fruity
  • Shiraz 2013 ($45 a bottle) - fruit, smoke, spice, dry - nice
  • Zinfandel 2013, Sonoma - bold, fruity, dry, some spice
  • Red 2013 ($45 a bottle) - a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Malbec, this wine tastes of bright fruit with a hint of bitterness, is a little jammy and slightly sweet
  • Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 ($50 a bottle) - fruity, a little hot on the nose, super dry with strong tannins
One tip the owner gave us is that the 2012-14 Napa vintages are all exceptional!

Such a lovely experience with a very gracious host. We purchased a bottle each of the Cab Sauv and Shiraz.
