Mumm Napa - Napa, CA

Mumm Napa is gorgeous! The vineyards line the parking lot and tasting room.

Greeting you as you walk up to the tasting room are - you guessed it - chrysanthemums! Blooming in every color, the cheerful display is the first promise of a wonderful visit!

A friend's parents are members here and were able to arrange for a complimentary tasting for us (usually $25 per person).

Our wine educator, Toby, poured three very generous glasses of sparkling for each of us. There were also water crackers on the table to cleanse our palates between tastes.
  • Brut Prestige Extended Tirage ($32 per bottle) - a 4-wine blend left "sur lees" (on the yeast) for an extended period of time - it was rich, crisp, and good
  • Brut Reserve Rosé ($39 per bottle) - a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this wine is fruity, fresh, a little floral, and dry - loved it!
  • Demi-Sec ($35 per bottle) - meaning "half-dry" in French, this wine is a little sweet and very nice!
Toby surprised us with an additional few tastes - these we shared amongst the four of us.
  • DVX ($65 per bottle) - this sparkling wine is aged 6 years and is an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - dry and crisp
  • Santana Brut ($50 per bottle) - a collaboration between Mumm Napa and Carlos Santana, this wine is a 60/40% blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay aged for 5 years - it's slightly sweet
  • Cuvée M Red ($32 per bottle) - a sparkling Pinot Noir, this wine is dry and light - I've been wanting to try a sparkling red and this one was wonderful!
What an exquisite experience we had at Mumm Napa! Can't wait to go back!
