Chateau de la Gardine Chateaneuf-du-Pape 2007, France - $37.50

It's Superbowl Sunday! MS and SD brought this wine to dinner. It is a blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, and small amounts of Syrah and Muscardin. It was purchased at Austin Wine Merchant for $37.50, and it apparently rivals wines twice its price. Robert Parker rated it 90 points.

Aroma - red and black fruit
Taste - black fruit, black tea, moderate tannins

Great with oven-fried chicken, roasted Brussels sprouts, mac-n-cheese! A nice recommendation from Austin Wine Merchant!
