B.R. Cohn North Coast Silver Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, Kenwood, CA

My brother and his wife got this for me for my birthday. It is a blend of 86.8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Merlot, and 4.7% Cabernet Franc, and retails online for $16 to $20/bottle.

Aroma - overwhelming oak, chemicals, some fruit
Taste - oak, some fruit, moderate tannins, very bitter finish

I wonder if this wine is corked or if I just don't prefer it. D doesn't think it's corked. I'm going to aerate it and see if it improves.

Update - next day
The wine is not corked, but it's extremely oaky. It's better now that it's breathed a bit, but I probably wouldn't choose to purchase it.
