Austin Wine Merchant - Bordeaux Tasting

Today's Austin Wine Merchant Bordeaux tasting held a few surprises for me!

Château Marjosse Entre-deux-Mers Bordeaux Blanc 2009, Bordeaux, France - $16.25
According to wine retailers' websites this wine a blend of either 45% Sauvignon Blanc, 45% Sémillon, and 10% Muscadelle, or 58% Sauvignon Blanc, 23% Sémillon, and 15% Muscadelle. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar rated this wine in the high 80s.
Aroma - tropical fruit and melon
Taste - tropical fruit, good acid, grapefruit finish
I really liked this wine - so nice!

Lafon-Roset Le Rosé de Lafon-Rochet Bordeaux 2010, Bordeaux, France - $13.75
This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and is the palest pink in color.
Aroma - light fruit
Taste - light pink fruit, dry
Such a nice wine - and I'm not usually a fan of rosé, but this one I really like!

Château Bellevue de Rambaud Bordeaux 2009, Bordeaux, France - $9.99
The label on the back of the bottle lists this wine's varietal blend as 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
Aroma - dark fruit
Taste - dark fruit, bitter tobacco finish
An ok, simple wine.

I'm surprised that I liked the white and rosé so much better than the red. And at these price points, the first two are really good values.
