Willows Lodge, Woodinville, WA

This beautiful hotel is right next to the Barking Frog. We headed there for post-dinner drinks.

Barrister Cabernet Franc 2008, Spokane, WA - $16/$62
The owner of the winery is a lawyer, which inspired the name of the wine. The wine is a blend of 88% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and retails for $16/glass or $62/bottle at the hotel.

Aroma - dark plums, chocolate
Taste - dark fruit, dark cocoa, strong tannins, cocoa finish

This was such a lovely after-dinner wine! Actually, I'd probably drink it anytime!

Baer Ursa 2008, Woodinville, WA - $18/$72
Our server also gave me a taste of this, her favorite wine on the menu which is a Bordeaux blend of 53% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Franc, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec, and 1% Petit Verdot. It retails for $18/glass and $72/bottle at the hotel.

Aroma - dark fruit, a little hot (no surprise at 14.5% alcohol)
Taste - dark fruit, cocoa, strong tannins, long cocoa finish

Another nice wine, although I did like the Cab Franc better.
