Kim Crawford Unoaked Chardonnay 2009, Marlborough, New Zealand - $19.99

This unoaked wine is 100% Chardonnay and does undergo malolactic fermentation, a process during which the malic acid in the wine is turned into lactic acid, which usually gives a wine a softer, more buttery texture or taste. I tasted this wine at Whole Foods this afternoon, where it retails for $19.99/bottle.

This wine tasted of crisp apples and was quite good for a Chardonnay, probably because it was unoaked. I would buy it if I were looking for a Chardonnay.
