Château La Gravière 2009, Bordeaux, France - $10.99

This Bordeaux rouge is a blend of the usual Bordeaux varietal. I tasted it today at Whole Foods, where it retails for $10.99/bottle.

This wine tastes of red fruit, a slight tartness, black tea and tobacco, and moderate tannins. Didn't like this one as much as the previous wine (Château Picau Perna 2009). But it's an okay wine and good for the price. Also, if it cellars well, it could become smoother and more mellow with a little age. I will probably buy a few bottles of it and try them at different times.

We bought this wine just because it was the "winner of medaille d'or". It's just plain vinegar... very disappointed, usually had a good luck with Wholefoods Bordeaux... oh, well...

I have to agree that it wasn't very impressive.
