Mark David Sauvignon Blanc 2009, Oakville, CA

This single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is actually made from Sauvignon Musque grapes (a clone of SB) grown in the Skellenger Vineyard. However, the vineyard ages the wine completely in barrels, which I could taste immediately. I much prefer SBs aged in stainless.

Aroma - sweet, honeyed but hot
Taste - toothpicks, grapefruit, not very crisp

I really like my SBs a lot crisper than this! This wine is a "maybe" in my book.

I did use the leftover wine to make some cilantro shrimp - yum!
