Luigi Bosca Reserva Malbec 2007, Argentina - $17

MS brought this Argentinian Malbec to pair with dinner tonight. I found it online for approximately $17/bottle, and it's rated 90 points by Wine Spectator and 88 points by Robert Parker.

It was a very rich wine made in the old world style, which imparted an earthiness to it in addition to the dark fruit and coffee that I smelled and tasted.

Update - April 7, 2011
Had this wine at Piranha Killer Sushi - it retailed there for $12/glass and $46/bottle.

The wine is a little musty and smoky, tasting of dark fruit, dry, with moderate tannins.

I like it and would purchase it again. It went great with all of the sushi rolls we had, including the fantastic Vietnamese Summer Roll and the Spider Roll.

This wine is unaoked, so it's not bad. I'd probably opt for a different white varietal, but this is an okay wine.
