Trimbach Riesling 2007, Alsace, France - $17.50

This was the third of five wines we tasted at Austin Wine Merchant today. I'm not a huge fan of Riesling, and even though Alsace is supposed to be the best place to grow the Riesling grape, I'm still not really loving the taste of this varietal.

Aroma - lychees
Taste - light, simple, tart, slightly sweet finish

We were puzzled because the wine pourer at the AWM kept saying that this wine is really dry. I didn't taste dry at all.

Stephen Tanzer rated this wine 87 points, and Wine Spectator rated it at 91 points.
