Santa Ema Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley, Chile 2005 - $10

It's always great to have a spontaneous get-together over a glass or 2 of wine! Was on my way home when I bumped into Mel in the lobby. She was going out to have a glass of wine, but instead we decided to come up to my condo and just have some here - fun!

Now Mel is a Champagne lover, but I hazard to open a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon this evening. Mel thought that the wine had aromas of tobacco, and I could absolutely taste that when I took a sip. Round, full, smooth, and easy to drink with lots of tannins and a slightly bitter finish - a really, really enjoyable wine! Went great with my shrimp tacos and guacamole!

I think D picked it out because it was given 90 points in Wine Spectator. Great thing is, I agreed that it was super-good! I think Mel liked it, too! ;)
